COLIBASANU Horia

• Started performance sports in Slatina in athletics at the junior league.
• Practices skiing from a young age due to constant trips with his parents in the ski areas from Prahova Valley.
• In 1998 starts mountaineering at the Romanian Alpine Club, although before he made lots of trips to the mountains with friends. The evolution in the sport is fast, so after ten years of activity, Horia can be proud with unique performances in Romanian mountaineering.

Ø  2002 – 2008 - Climbing contest “Herculane Climbing Open“, the biggest climbing contest in . It reached 100 participants at the last edition, from which 20 where from , and .

Ø  2007 – Member of the central commission of mountaineering of the Romanian Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing.

Ø  1998 - Caucasus – summited Gumaci(3843m), Elbrus(5648m)

Ø  1999 - Tien Shan – summited Khan Tengri(7010m)

Ø  2002 - Caucasus – summited Elbrus(5648m)

Ø  2003 - Alps – summited Matterhorn(4476m) trough the Lion’s ridge –

Ø  2004 - Himalaya – summited K2(8611m)first romanian ascent– the biggest performance of Romanian mountaineering

Ø  2006 - Himalaya – summited Manaslu(8163m) first romanian ascent– receives the title of  Honorary citizen of Timisoara

Ø  2007 - Himalaya – summited Dhaulagiri(8167m) first romanian ascent– does his first attempt on Annapurna

Ø  2008 - Himalaya – Annapurna(8091m) – failed summit attempt on a new route. Takes part in the rescue attempt of his partner Inaki Ochoa, staying by his side 3 days in camp 4 at 7500m.
